I keep needing sleep and then writing about how I need sleep, and I fear it's getting old

I had something to write about
But now it's gotten late
And I've been pressed to find out what
I planned to now related

I did some work today for school
And meant to do some more
But strange and wondrous things occured
That made my life no bore

A drive and hammock, dinner trip
And then I got stuff done
But then distracted by the bets
On pope and racing fun

And then we played some Smash as well
So as I sit in bed
I think of all the choices that
Have me to this place led

And what I've found is unshocking
I sacrifice my sleep
To have some fun with friends and such
Make memories to keep

But if I keep on writing 'bout
How I am sat here tired
You might get bored with the same stuff
